Congratulations

Posted 12th April 2010 by Michael Osborn

Hi Michael, wishing you the best in this noble cause.
I have a couple of questions....

How do I add links to my profile?

Are your sites ranked by popularity? Can a rank change automatically based on numbers of hearts? Or is it based on an internal assignment from your end?

How do we add tags to the music sites?

What's your definition of an "on demand" music site?

We provide the download engine for a number of small independent labels. I would like to add them to your lists or should I have the label add them?

thanks, Michael, wishing you the best!

REPLY AND ANSWERS

Dear Cookie,

Thanks for the support and your interest. We will be sending out information to site owners this week (I hope) as to how you access your site page to update the words, add tags etc.

Answers to your questions are:

Q. Are your sites ranked by popularity? Can a rank change automatically based on numbers of hearts? Or is it based on an internal assignment from your end?

Answer. Sites come up initially in the order they were added. They can be ranked by popularity - the number of times a site has been favourited; you can also order the listing alphabetically and by audio quality available on the site. The key to the left of the list explains more. You click on the heading icons at the top of the table to change the list order.

Q. What's your definition of an "on demand" music site?

Answer: On-demand sites offer streamed music from a wide portfolio of content, instantly available. The current business models are free music content with lots of adverts, or paid-for content without adverts, sometimes with higher quality streams. They differ from streamed radio, because you choose the music you want to hear. Some on-demand services also sell music downloads, so they are on-demand (streaming) and download stores. You will find many of the sites on DreamStreaming cropping up in more than one category, as, for example, some download stores also offer streaming (or visa-versa).

Q. We provide the download engine for a number of small independent labels. I would like to add them to your lists or should I have the label add them?

Answer: I suggest the labels who use your download engine sign up themselves and suggest their sites on DreamStreaming. This way we will have a contact for each of the sites on the system.

Best regards, Michael.
